In the summer sky at night, the North American Nebula NGC7000 is directly above us in the constellation Swan, accompanied by the Pelican Nebula (IC5070). Both nebulae are part of a larger interstellar cloud, which consists mainly of ionised hydrogen and is partially covered by dust bands. In order to emphasise the special features of the nebulae, I exposed the photo for about 28 hours with special filters that mainly allow the light of such nebulae to pass through. These are hydrogen, oxygen and sulphur.
