These cirrus cloud-like nebulae are the last visible remnants of a star that exploded in the Milky Way about 8,000 years ago. For people living at that time the expanding cloud was as bright as a crescent moon and visible for several weeks. Both nebulae are located in the constellation Cygnus. Although they are also high in our night sky, I took the two detailed photos in Namibia where the sky is more favourable.
