A classic nebula in the night sky and an annual must-see! Located in the sword of Orion, this nebula is one of the brightest in the sky and under very good conditions can even be seen with the naked eye as a small patch of nebulosity. Red and blue areas determine its appearance. Red from ionized hydrogen, blue from the reflected light of the dust clouds. The Orion Nebula is the closest and most active area to us, in which many stars, including massive ones, are being formed, some of which are probably less than 100,000 years old. A blink of an eye in the age of the universe.
