The Horsehead Nebula in the constellation of Orion is always impressive, appearing here in front of a large, red cloud of hydrogen. And coloured stars shine everywhere. The Horsehead Nebula is a black spot in the sky that could not be explained for a long time. Today we know that it is a huge dark cloud of tiny dust particles which, despite its low density, obscures the light of the stars and the red nebula. My photo shows a section of the sky about 3° x 2° in size, into which the moon fits about 24 times.
